2007 U.S. and Canada Easter attendance reports released

The Sunday School and Discipleship Ministries International Department has released the 2007 Easter attendance report. The report reveals that 738,927 people attended Easter services at Nazarene congregations in the USA and Canada. These figures reflect resurrection services but do not include Good Friday or other Holy Week activities.

Included in the report is a list of Nazarene congregations in the U.S. topping 1,000 or more for Easter attendance. The 2007 report reveals 63 Nazarene churches reporting at least 1,000 in attendance on Easter. That number was down from the 81 churches reporting 1,000 or more in 2006.

The churches with the highest Easter attendance were Central Ohio’s Grove City church (6,058), Kansas City’s Olathe College church (3,865), Northwest Oklahoma’s Bethany First church (3,623), Northwestern Ohio’s Lima Church (3503), and Sacramento’s Yuba City Church (3,409).

This report was compiled from the 67% of churches in the USA/Canada which submitted Easter attendance statistics to the SDMI office. 2006 figures were used for churches not reporting in 2007.
