Memphis church's film seeks healing in North America's racial hotbed
"Love and forgiveness, that's what it's about." This is how Academy Award winner Louis Gossett Jr. describes The Grace Card, a movie currently filming in Memphis and a project of the Memphis Calvary Church of the Nazarene. The church usually puts on an ambitious Easter program, but opted to support the film instead this year. Church members help with everything from carpentry to catering on the set in this evangelistic endeavor. read more

Faith for water in Swaziland
For many people across Africa, life revolves around the daily challenge of finding enough clean water for basic needs. This is the case in many places in Swaziland, especially the rural areas where large water sources have not been developed. Because of the strong faith exhibited by many, 12 Nazarene clinics and communities will receive a solar water system with associated water harvesting and sanitation systems during the remainder of 2009 and early 2010. read more

NPH exceeds Thanksgiving offering goal
On November 12, Nazarene Publishing House held its annual Thanksgiving Chapel for all employees and invited guests. Joe Colaizzi from the Kansas City Rescue Mission was the invited speaker. NPH President Hardy Weathers stated the 2009 NPH Thanksgiving offering would be to provide meals for those seeking a hot Thanksgiving dinner at KCRM. The goal was to raise enough funds to feed 500 people - double the amount of any previous Thanksgiving offering. read more

MidAmerica Nazarene University became the first university in the U.S. to be approved to teach Theraplay® in its Play Therapy Certificate Program last. read more


MNU donates first installment to Guatemalan clinic
MidAmerica Nazarene University students presented Heart to Heart International with $10,000 on November 17, the first installment toward a $50,000 goal being raised for a new health clinic in Patanic, Guatemala. read more


NNU School of Nursing awarded $87,000 grant
Northwest Nazarene University received an $87,000 grant from the John H. & Orah I. Brandt Foundation for equipment in the new nursing lab named in their honor. Funds will provide additional equipment that will assist in providing "real-life patient care scenarios" for students in the School of Nursing. read more


SNU Archives honors C. Paul Gray
The new archives reading room in Southern Nazarene University's Fred Floyd Archives was dedicated during the university's 100th homecoming on November 7, and named in honor of C. Paul Gray, long time historian and archivist. He and Fred Floyd collected materials for the archives for decades and, in 1986, the Fred Floyd Archives was chartered. (Slideshow) read more

In 1994, Eastern Nazarene College formally established an Athletics Hall of Fame, inducting just one honoree: Carroll F. Bradley, a member of ENC's first team to play in intercollegiate competition and the college's longtime athletic director. read more
